"To be edible, is to be possible to be consumed. And to be living, is to consume. Thus we find that the nature of the unliving is to be consumed. In fact, therefore, anything that is not living may be consumed -"

The Bandaged Poissonier is the best cook in Venderbight, even by London's standards.

The Seventh Sensation

An accomplished tomb-colonist chef with a troubled past, the Bandaged Poissonier is a Khaganian who left his family behind and dramatically quit a different job to pursue his true calling. He visits London each year at Hallowmas, to share his shame with all who wish to hear of it. The Poissonier owns a very well-reviewed restaurant in Venderbight called The Vengeance of Jonah, though his restaurant is rather lenient with the concept of edibility.

The Poissonier seems to have an affinity with zeefood; he can render even the strangest of catches edible (edible, not tasty). Strangely, his cooking methods resemble a form of alchemy; he's even capable of deducing the ingredients of Zzoup. Despite everything, he's not a miracle worker, and some catches are simply beyond his skills. As of now, he's looking for ways to fulfill his obscure ambition, and the ingredients he needs are expensive. Expensive indeed....

The Poissonnier's Ambition

"There are some things we were not meant to know, they say. But you wouldn't be down here if you took that seriously."

Beyond this point lie spoilers for Fallen London, Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies, or Mask of the Rose. This may include midgame or minor Fate-locked content. Proceed with caution.

The Poissonier's ambition is to cook a meal for The Fathomking and his court.

The seven courses of his feast are:

  1. The First Touch on the Skin
  2. Struggling Against the Current
  3. "Swallowed!"
  4. The Surface, High Above
  5. Lost Breath
  6. The Abandonment of the Self
  7. The Promise of What is to Follow
