"You stumble upon an alley painted in violent shades, strung with glittering chains and speckled sheets of satin. Discomforting symbols are scorched into the brick, with images daubed over them. Details leap out: A mask of melting wax. A seven-pointed eye. A spiral."[1]

The Moth-cloaked Vandal is an elusive street artist who has been spreading her mystifying and seemingly arcane artwork along London's streets. Hunted by the Ministry of Public Decency as well as a secret society devoted to catching her, she roams London to elude them and pursue her art.

The Vandal's Identity

"Because of my heritage, I am as much a blasphemy as these moths,"[1]

The Moth-cloaked Vandal is a young half-Snuffer girl. Orphaned and entrusted to the care of God's Editors, she eventually learned of her forbidden parentage; this drove her to join anarchist and Liberationist circles to understand herself and her abilities. Her study of the Correspondence and the Great Chain of Being led to an about-face in her beliefs, as she began to worship the Judgements, spurring her artistic acts of penance across London for what she perceives as the city's sins against the Great Chain. Her ability to change her facial features at will has allowed her to escape capture - but with the Ministry, her former anarchist allies, and the mysterious Society in Pursuit of Moths searching for her, her time in London is quickly running out.
