The Bishop of Southwark, real name Reginald, is one of the two bishop in London, and a powerful figure among the Church. He is known for his boisterous character, his short temper and his love of wrestling.
Biography
Reginald was born the elder in his family.[1] He went to college[2] and was once a member of the Young Stags.[3] At the time of the Fall, Reginald was a priest working for the St Albans Protomartyr church, working there as a canon.[4] His father disapproved of his son’s vocation.[1]
When the campaign of 1868 against Hell started, he decided to become a chaplain in the old regiment of his father, which pleased the latter.[1] During the campaign, he accompanied a scout patrols near the front,[5] and stopped to pick an infernal rose. It suddenly burned up, permanently leaving a scar on his forearm. His screams of pain alerted the Devils, and they captured the whole troop.[6] During this battle, a goat-demon pulled the horse from under him and ate it.[7] After being captured, all of his comrade had their soul removed, but he was sent to row a Brass Trireme.[8][7] While captured, he refused to eat the food of Hell. In a state of hunger and delirium, he signed a contract that allowed him to keep his soul, and go back to London.[9]
The Bishop never married, but dated two men. The first was called Michael.[10] He has eyes like fire.[11][12] Reginald meet him in Ireland,[11] possibly in Dublin,[13] and he was frequenting him during the Campaign of ’68.[6] The second was called James, but their relationship ended on bad terms.[10]
When he doesn’t deal with the affair of the Church, the machinations of Hell or engage in dispute with the Bishop of St Fiacre’s,[14] Reginald spend his time in the fourth coil of the Labyrinth, giving all sort of animals to a winged bat in a barn, from which emerge strange creatures. He seek to create a Hound of Heaven, which could be used to detect devils.[15] His ultimate goal is to try a second invasion of Hell, to take back what was lost the first time.[16]
He ran unsuccessfully for Mayor of London in 1894.[17] His agenda was to diminish the presence and influence that the devils have over London.[18] However, it appeared that part of his campaign was financed by some devils themselves.[19]
He and Virgnia do not like each other.[20]
