"What can you find in Ladybones Road? Moloch Street Underground Station is the first stop on the journey to Hell. Clathermont's Tattoo Parlour, haunt of spies, is here. Hangman's Arch can be a good place to hear gossip, and is always a good place for a hanging."[1]

Ladybones Road, or Ladybones, is a major district of London.

Secrets for All to See

"Fallen London is a city of secrets. If you're here to find them, Ladybones Road is the place to start."[2]

The Brass Embassy

Ladybones Road is rife with mysteries and intrigue.[2][3] Hell's embassy in London, the Brass Embassy,[4] is located here[5] and is staffed by devils and goat-demons.[6] The Embassy pays Londoners well for intelligence[7] and for human souls,[8] including those from unlicensed spirifers.[9] To match its infernal influence, the neighborhood is dappled in hellish graffiti - tricky to decipher, but it hints at Hell's internal affairs.[10]

Another popular local establishment, Clathermont's Tattoo Parlour, is a meeting place for agents of the Great Game[1] who use tattoos to encode messages and secrets.[11][12] Some of Clathermont's patrons visit nearby pubs afterwards to wind down and chat about their tattoos' meanings.[13]

Tyrant's Gardens is a park in Ladybones,[14][15] perfect for a stroll or discreet meeting.[16][17] Ladybones also houses the entrance to the Clay Quarters,[18] a labyrinth under the city in which Clay Men conduct their business.[19] Moloch Street, London's station on the railway lines to Hell,[20] is located in this neighborhood.[1]

Before the Fall of London, Ladybones was called Marylebone.[21][22]

Detective for Hire

"Ladybones Road: home of detectives and rumourmongers. The best place to pick up the trail."[23]

Thanks to its mystique, Ladybones Road is frequented by detectives and Constables.[3] The Constables' headquarters, Concord Square,[24] is located in this district.[25] Independent detectives receive commissions to solve mysteries,[26][27] and the Constables often look for intelligence on the Brass Embassy and the Great Game.[28][11]

Hangman's Arch

Hangman's Arch is a famous landmark of Ladybones. Public hangings that often draw crowds are conducted here,[29] despite death's unreliability in the Neath.[30] During downtime, elderly women gather beneath the Arch to gossip and sell sugared mushrooms.[31] Hanged prisoners who recover from death are exiled to the Tomb-Colonies,[32] and their discarded garmets are gifted to informants by the Constables as a traditional,[33] but grim,[34] reward.[33]

Hangman's Arch, shown in detail on this postcard, was likely Marble Arch before the Fall of London.
