Does anybody know if the Cheesemonger has a real life historical counterpart?

I'd like to put a "real life connection" section for as many as possible of the main characters in London for whom relatively strong historical connections have been established on the forums, blogs etc. Because part of the richness of the fictional lore lies in those nonfictional inspirations.
