Is it possible that "the Implacable Detective" is based on Miss Marple? She (The implacable Detective that is, who I'll now refer to as "TID") is depicted in storylets as being an older woman. The storylets don't make TID out to be easily intimidated which I believe matches up well with Miss Marple, at least the film and movie adaptions of her. Like Miss Marple, TID also seems to have connections in high society despite not being of the aristocracy herself as evidenced by her membership of the Dilmun Club alongside His Amused Lordship and the Bishop of St Fiacre's. Unfortunately I couldn't find any evidence of Hercule Poirot which is a shame cause he's my favourite fictional detective :( ... What does everyone else think? Am I onto something here?
