"Crunchy. Earthy. Moreish. These apples are not refreshing. But they are filling, and they will make you strong (but brittle). Avoid consuming them in precarious positions. (The ultimate in nourishment solutions.)"[2]

Chertapples are an unusual type of apple from the Elder Continent.[3] Grey in color with reddish seeds, they have a crunchy texture and an earthy taste.[4] While not very refreshing, they are quite filling and said to be "nourishing to the bone;"[5][4] this is because eating one will cause a person's bones to "run strong,"[6] eventually solidifying them into a statue.[7]

The chertapple trees in the Bleeding Forest produce yellow fruit. Their branches are menaced by Bloatfingers, but retrieving an apple and scattering its seeds will reveal the path forward.[8]
