"Crunchy. Earthy. Moreish. These apples are not refreshing. But they are filling, and they will make you strong (but brittle). Avoid consuming them in precarious positions. (The ultimate in nourishment solutions.)"[2]

Chertapples are an unusual type of apple from the Elder Continent.[3] Grey in color with reddish seeds, they have a crunchy texture and an earthy taste.[4] While not very refreshing, they are quite filling and said to be "nourishing to the bone;"[5][4] this is because eating one will cause a person's bones to "run strong,"[6] eventually solidifying them into a statue.[7]

Deep within the Bleeding Forest grow trees which produce apples of yellow chert. Their branches are menaced by Bloatfingers, but retrieving an apple and scattering its seeds will reveal the path forward.[8]
