The Persephone is a river in the Hinterlands that is accessible from Jericho Locks, but owned by Hell.[2] It is stocked with tribute from the Guild of Gondoliers,[3] in the form of seven-eyed, seven-hearted fish with white flesh.[4] Their scales, called Moonlight Scales,[5] shine the color of "sunset and moonlight,"[6] and are a delicacy in Hell.[7] Other offerings from the ages of past Fallen Cities also litter the river.[8]
