"In the migrainous straits of deep sleep, there is a marsh where candle-flames buzz like wasps."

WARNING: Beyond this point lie spoilers for Fallen London's most infamous storyline: Seeking Mr Eaten's Name. Turn back now.

"Furtive faithful gather in the shadows between the many, many candles. A bell tolls in the chapel tower: cracked iron laughter. Beware. The isle is full of voices."

The Chapel of Lights is an island church community, located just south of Avid Horizon.

Music for the Entrails

The island is practically covered in candles; there is also a very large well on the island.

Unbeknownst to the Dark-Spectacled Admiral in London, who thinks they're merely slightly cracked heretics, the inhabitants of the island practice cannibalism. Let's just say that one should not partake of the Smiling Priest's hospitality too liberally if they want to avoid eating people. Those who have already acquired a taste for human flesh may perform dark rituals here.

A Red-Rimmed Smile

While the Priest is very jovial and hospitable, his followers always lurk in the shadows. Occasionally they may reveal themselves, but only to the truly foolish who have already proven their worth. They may even provide a donation, especially if the skinless, scarecrow-like Executioner gets involved.

The Smiling Priest and his followers worship the Drowned Man, also known as Mr Eaten. As such, it's a stop on the journey North for those Seeking the Name.
