"Perhaps she's afraid of being forgotten. She isn't afraid of much else."[1]
"I'm older than I look. We're all older than we look, to you people."[2]
The Presbyterate Adventuress was an exile hailing from the the Elder Continent who brought her talent to the Admiralty.
A Shattering Force
"Yes, I was in the Navy. Did you think I'd stolen the uniform? I retired before they threw me out."[2]
As a member of the Royal Navy, she used her knowledge of the continent to forge a path through the Elder Continent for the Admiralty, one that even the Presbyterate was unaware of. This, and the resulting victories in various respects (intelligence, war, et cetera), led to the founding of London's only colony, Port Carnelian.[3]
The Presbyterate are unaware of her role at establishing Port Carnelian, but they are keeping an eye on her.[4]
The Adventuress Correspondence Course
"Her lesson was this: when necessary, refuse the terms of engagement, and write your own."[5]
Her tenure also led to the creation of the Adventuress Correspondence Course, a martial course based on many of her exploits during her time at the navy that emphasized exploration and survival in the wilderness.[6]
Borrowed Time
"We have too many names for her. One for every day of the year... I could never get them right. And I resented her. I still do. She has all that life to give, and none of it for me. Because my bloody father got greedy."[7]
The Adventuress was exiled from the Elder Continent because her father outlived the time he was allotted (None shall live a thousand years); he was killed permanently, and she was exiled and given a century to live (thou shalt not live a hundred years). She left the Royal Navy shortly before the end of her term of assigned service to prevent more casualties from Presbyterate assassins.
While she would readily accept being executed by the Presbyterate, she would rather die in a much less mundane manner: perhaps a fierce battle.[8]
