"He does not have the experience of years, but he is talented, adventurous, and quick to learn."

The Fortunate Navigator is a spirited young Khaganian man who seeks to travel the High Wilderness.

A Friendship and a Promise[edit]

The Navigator is the son of a servant to the Eagle Khan Ambassador in London. He befriended the Ambassador's son, Altan,[1] and the two childhood companions promised to each other that they would do great deeds together when they grew up.[2] Their bond stayed firm as the Navigator came to understand his identity as a transgender man,[3] and when the Avid Horizon was opened, he and Altan moved to the High Wilderness together.[4] Sadly, Altan died in New London, and the Navigator could not attend his funeral as he was busy working as a locomotive engineer.[1]

The Navigator and his crew were eventually stranded on Lustrum; he now searches for a ride back to London so that he can take Altan's corpse on one last grand adventure,[5][6] and finally give his dear friend a worthy burial.[7]
