Book of Trezigor 6

(...) 8The traveller was received with a laurel of roses and thorns. They wore it as a crown as they were led where the high manses stand.[1]

Book of Trezigor 7

(...) 7The traveller came to the place where fiddles are broken and there is dancing in the square. The traveller did not know the steps, and their iron shoes grew too hot to dance. The Emissary's spurs put that heat to better use.[1]

Book of Trezigor 19

(...) 9The traveller was shown the manse where ivy grows on the pale stones. They were also shown the keys that might be theirs, the roses that know their name, and the bed where they shall lie. Their request to go home was denied. There is no such law-furnace that can effect such a thing.[1] 10The traveller was brought to the Gates and shown the way. It is not home. It is as best as can be asked for. Their badge, given previously, grew a second head. This is an omen. It can be disregarded.[1]

Book of Trezigor 22

(...) 18The traveller was taken to the red road that was once thronged with roses. Their crown was pulled down and thrown upon that pilgrim road, where a hero once came in the white city's hour of need. There will be other hours; we may hope for other heroes.[1]
