Because the White Well is frozen, some Failed Dead can simply climb the Well's depths to escape. To prevent this, some Yoked souls have been assigned the task of being '''spider-sweepers'''. Spider-sweepers descend into the Well and use broomsticks to sweep off any Failed Dead climbing the walls. The imposters' collective name is "the Widows".
