The Repentant Devil

He looks younger than most Devils, but he is significantly older. His gaze is blank and yellow, a wall against speculation. He grooms his sideburns artfully, and knows how to be tactful with less seasoned members of the crew.

The Repentant Devil used to be the best at purifying souls. If soul purification is the same as cooking, which technically they are, then he's the Gordon Ramsay of soul purification: excellent at their job, but extremely critical to those who can't. Skyfarer who visits Carillon while carrying the Devil would occasionally hear him sneers and calls the devils there "incompetent",

He used to live with the Baroness of Hell, after a failed rebellion by the Devils against the Judgements. Unsatisfied by the hiding, he leaves. Last he met the Baroness, he cuts one of her leg.

Then he became a Republican. This too did not satisfied him, though for a different reason. Ever since then, he has became repentant.
