Well it'd also likely be a lot easier to claim to kill the Cantigaster than the Vake, since the Cantigaster would take a while for anyone to notice if it died, since its venom would still be in circulation & such. Whereas the Vake, it's seen frequently, so someone would notice if there was a sudden lack of sightings, and someone could easily call falsehood on a Vake kill, since if you kill the Vake you're gonna bring that d___ thing's head.
