Railway Track

Railway steel is particularly suited to the Neath, as well as to the complicated task of reaching Hell intact. As such, it requires some more unusual materials than simple surface steel; its primary composition consists of Justificande coins and Bessemer steel. In addition to normal steel's ductile strength and low surface roughness, these materials contain at least one unique impurity: martensite crystals, as identified by FF Gebrandt while researching the formula for Railway Steel which act as a compass of sorts, orienting themselves towards Hell.[1] Whether the impurity comes from the Justificande coins, the Bessemer steel, or both, is unclear.

Stations

  • Ealing Gardens, closest to London and home to Rubbery folk.
  • Jericho Locks, the next closest, which serves as home for those who work the canals in the Upper River.
  • The Magistracy of the Evenlode, a settlement atop First City ruins that is the outer bound of the reach of London's laws.
  • Balmoral, the Empress's Scottish holding that has fallen with London into the Neath.
  • Station VIII, a factory complex that extracts emotions in chemical form.
  • Burrow-Infra-Mump, a lonely church next to Hell's figurative gates.
