"The words 'Nullius in Verba' are written across the stonework above the great bronzewood doors. Her Renewed Majesty has granted these grounds to the finest minds in Albion to work here. Their purview is to invent, to hypothesise, to discover, and – most crucially – to watch the stars.'"

When London ascended into the High Wilderness, all its greatest minds also did. Now they known as Royal Society, located deep within desolated wasteland of Albion.

The Airy

Pretty mansions of stone and glass in the middle of lush verdant gardens. Coming from hidden vents, mist coats all surroundings like volatile milk. The only thing that breaks the feeling of bliss is distant whirring of machines somewhere below. It is a home for London's greatest scientists, researchers and inventors. First among equals, the Mellifluous President offers rewards to those who are willing to help scientific progress by donating curious findings to Society. But did anybody, tangled by his sweet speeches and endless banquets, ever wondered: where does everything go? Did anybody except Mellifluous President seen the Celestal Exhibition? Many wonders enter the Royal Society, but very few ever came out.

Nell's tower

"The Ministry has stamped permits for this particular usage up to the next century"

If Royal Society was a crown, than Nell's tower would be its jewel. Observatory dome tower over the roofs, and vast steel telescope stares up into the sky. Here astronomers observe stars and their behaviour. But mostly only one particular star. For some reason, Ministry makes everyone to go through paperwork hell to turn the telescope even the slightest. Is it because Clockwork Sun is so important, or they discourage new discoveries? Anyway, do not look in it for too long. Clockwork Sun's light is dangerous even with magnifying glass.

The Rochester Club

In the past, London's high society enjoyed yacht sport. Now, when London floats in the sky and water is not present, they found new hobby: train races. That said, any star captain with engine fast enough could become a member. Here, in club, armchairs are comfortable, fire is cosy, brandy is plentiful and members are always ready for new race. But is Royal Society a right place for such activities? Almost as somebody wants to distract everybody from something more important.

Portsmouth House

The mechanical heart of Royal Society, where progress do not stop even for a second. Here armies of engineers lead by Energetic Mechanic and Inscribed Tinkerer develop and produce the most innovative contraptions. Machines straight from fantasies, mechanisms with self-awareness and even law-furnaces: only few chosen ones could see it, not to mention use. Also, against all odds, there is a munition producing factory, but it is off limits. However, you always can buy some of their products from stock.
