(Awake. The play will begin once again. This time my story will be told.)
A Disturbance
"Trespassers. You walk my paths. Pluck the fruit from my trees. Gorge yourselves until your bellies ache and your fat chins glisten with juice. Enjoy your stolen feast. You, and you; you will join my chorus. The rest of you are not worthy of a role."
Inside the Well is a garden full of bountiful fruit, and in the middle is an amphitheater. The performers and audience at the theater are trapped in a frozen tea party by the Fingerking inside, and only released when they are needed for a play. Most of these people are individuals that ended up in the Well. Some were pulled by the well-wind, and some came via the bottom of another well, but most of them are here thanks to mishaps in Parabola. (What did they think they would find with that contraption of mirrors and glass?)
The prisoner of this well is the First Storyteller. Also known as St Solonace, a rebellious storyteller turned into a story, it holds control over the Well itself and is the one responsible for trapping the actors and audience. It will only relinquish its control of its victims when its story, The Ballad of the Solonacean Conjunction, finally reaches its conclusion. The only thing in the way of this circumstance is that nobody seems to fit the role of the Prophet Exile... (All stories yearn to reach their end. When mine is finally complete, I will languish in ignominy no more.)
