"There are some things we were not meant to know, they say. But you wouldn't be down here if you took that seriously."

"V marks VIOLANT when blood is shed in a spired place. Violant ink is employed for the most desperate treaties..."[1]

Violant is a color of the Neathbow; the counterpart of irrigo, it is the color of troublesome but necessary connections. The name "violant" could stem from "violent," or "violet," or both.

Properties

Violant indelibly lingers in one's memory and is often unnerving to stare at for too long. It is very difficult to forget anything written in violant ink.[2]

Uses

Correspondents use this ink extensively in their esoteric, paradigm-altering publications.[3]

Gallery

Of course, Neathbow colors are not a single thing but include shades, as real colors do[4]. Violant is usually depicted as burgundy,[5] but sometimes it is illustrated as a shade of purple,[6] or even as a light blue.[7] It can range from electric blue to the red of slightly dried blood.[8]
