"What was once a house of correction is now a home to chaos. Old Newgate, sealed away in 1875, has been left to its own devices. Its usage as a prison in the Neath was brief. Bees haunt the ruined tunnels now, a relic of some practice that took place in the prison; it is said Hell will pay handsomely for their recovery."[1]
Since being replaced by New Newgate Prison, the inmates have ruled the prison, where they compete in an ancient game: Dagger, or Flint? The prisoners play for bees; to catch them, you will need to join the game.[2]
Dagger, or Flint?
A heady drone can be heard within its broken walls as you enter. In the atrium, lined with fractured tiles, someone has put up a crude sign. Two images: a dagger, and a fire-lighting flint. Beneath them, someone has scratched 'CHOOSE'.[3]
In the dark ruined tunnels of Old Newgate, guided by nothing more than candle light, bravery, and the glimmer of a knife; now-decrepit murderers attempt to attack and ambush each other. All to secure the currency of the cursed tunnels, the bees that are said to be a relic of some practice that took place in the prison. Betrayals are frequent, new leaders quickly emerging to replace those who had their flames wiped out before.
However, for those who are able to outwit, outfight, and outlive there opponents, the rewards are vast. Hell will pay handsomely for the recovery of any bees, though some may prefer to taste the succulent honey and secrets that the bees can provide.[4]

The bees of Old Newgate Prison are a source of Gaoler's Honey (also called Red Honey). Gaoler's Honey is a sinister version of Prisoner's Honey which allows one to experience another's memories (which is incredibly painful for the unfortunate victim), made from the pollination of bees that have consumed a victim's tears.
It is rumored that there is a tunnel leading from the Shuttered Palace leading to the Old Newgate Prison.[5] It is also said that if one is to consume an inordinate amount of honey from the bees of Old Newgate, that one will see visions of the princes and princesses partaking in the thrill of the hunt, while the jailers and Masters sweep through the chambers inspecting their prison.[6]

For the briefest moment, the swarm remembers - another place, another time, where hives rose like towers in fields of gold, under a cosmogone sun. And then the dreams, and the screaming, fade.
