"A woman in an iridescent green gown waves vaguely from a rock near the shore. Sorrowful sighs waft across the water towards you. An idiot castaway? A mermaid?"[1]
Siren-serpents, known scientifically as Serpentus sirenesis,[2][3] are serpentine creatures with sharp teeth,[4] bullet-resistant skin,[5] and maws large enough to rip a boat in two.[6] These serpents are especially infamous for their tendency to disguise their tails as alluring, humanoid apparitions while producing human-like calls;[2] for this reason, the siren-serpent is also known vulgarly as Neptune's Harlot.[3] Siren-serpents lay their eggs on suitable rock formations,[5] and young siren-serpents are called Harlot-Fry. Notably, even hatchling siren-serpents possess extremely sharp teeth.[7]
