It would explain why some of the destinies, visions of ones future, involve such dramatic transformations. Obviously there are other ways to move up and down the Chain, but the price is always monstrous. In one you even seem to be looking out from behind a Master’s eyes. Certainly an easier explanation is that you’re the Skin-wearer and you finally flayed and donned Mr. Veils. | ||

It could also be interesting in relation to the theory that the player character is either a snuffer or the Thief itself. It would explain why some of the destinies, visions of ones future, involve such dramatic transformations. Obviously there are other ways to move up and down the Chain, but the price is always monstrous. In one you even seem to be looking out from behind a Master’s eyes. Certainly an easier explanation is that you’re the Skin-wearer and you finally flayed and donned Mr. Veils.
