Khan's Glory is the residence of the Khan himself, as well as home to several lords, ladies, and other members of the Khanate's courts and upper society. The Glory is home to palaces of unparalleled extravagance,[1] coral statues of past warrior-khans, Neathy gardens, parks populated by antelope, and other marvels of architecture and decor.[1][2]
As befits such splendor, Khan's Glory is also heavily guarded, with each palace resembling a fortress as much as a mansion,[1] and gunboats patrolling the waters nearby with vigilance.[3] Suspected spies are often fired at by sentries,[2] and the guards wield weapons of surprising modernity.[4] Furthermore, tomb-colonists that are suspected of espionage may be ground up and sold at Khan's Heart as ghost-dust;[5] that said, favored tomb-colonists are often treated with respect at the Glory, as the Khaganians revere their elders.[6]
