"'...it attempted to bite me, although without any real conviction. Honestly, I think it was glad of the attention. It pursued me down Cantersotts Way as far as the harbour, with its keeper wailing and running behind, shedding the occasional keeperly digit...'"[1]

The Tomb-Lion was once a performing animal for a show or circus, but it was unfortunately mistreated and now resides in the Tomb-Colonies.[2] It is accompanied by a keeper,[3] and is wreathed in bandages and a rather horrid odor.[2][4] Despite its squalor, it is loyal and seemingly quite intelligent,[5][6] and it retains its regal demeanor and aggression towards disrespect.[4][7] Its diet is mysterious; it shows no interest in any kind of food, and it is unknown whether it eats at all.[8]
