"Four are gathered at their usual table. The Masked Citizen, a libertine, polymath and pioneer of the Neonocturnal artistic school. The Bedevilled Didact, a scholar haunted by his discoveries. The Plucky Baroness: explorer, collector, philatelist. And 'Spatchcocker' Meg, who hunts monsters."

The Promise of Days is a club of experienced skyfarers who all reside in New Winchester.
Members[edit]
There are four members of the club. Rumor has it that they investigate the secrets of the stars separately, to evade something called "the Fire that Follows."
- The Masked Citizen is the founder of the Neonocturnals, a brand new artistic movement that flourishes in the dark of Eleutheria.
- The Bedevilled Didact is an academic who has discovered something that he shouldn't. This has caused him to became the most paranoid out of the four.
- The Plucky Baroness is an explorer and collector of the skies. She commandeers a locomotive called the Bodichon.
- 'Spatchcocker' Meg is a former menace eradicator and expert hunter of Sky-Beasts. She really does not get along with Mr Menagerie.
